How we write

Editorial policy

A clinic writing about its own treatment starts out biased. These are the rules we hold ourselves to so the pages are still useful to you.

This policy covers every page and article on Dental Crowns Turkey. Precious Dental, our own clinic, publishes the site, and that is precisely why these rules exist.

Who we are writing for

Mostly UK adults between about 25 and 45 who are thinking about crowns abroad. Some have a broken or root-filled tooth that needs protecting. Others want to change how their smile looks and have seen both the glossy Instagram results and the "Turkey teeth" horror stories. We write in plain UK English, explain dental terms the first time we use them, and try to answer one question well on each page.

Where facts come from

A clinical claim should lead you to a source you can read for yourself. In rough order of preference, we use:

  1. UK health bodies: the NHS, NICE, GOV.UK and the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme.
  2. Professional and patient bodies, such as the British Dental Association and the Oral Health Foundation.
  3. Peer-reviewed research, with systematic reviews ahead of single studies, linked on PubMed or to the full text.
  4. Manufacturer documents, only for facts about that maker’s own product (for example, what IPS e.max is made of).

Sources are listed at the bottom of each page. We check that each link works and that it says what we say it says. Forums, other clinics’ marketing and press releases are not used as evidence.

How we handle numbers

We only quote a figure that appears in the source, and we say what it measured. Survival of a crown, survival of the tooth under it and how the crown looks after ten years are three different findings, and studies on zirconia and on lithium disilicate (E-max) do not always measure the same thing. Where the evidence is thin, we say that in words rather than pick the kindest number. We do not publish our own success rates, patient counts or "you save X%" claims.

Medical review

Every page with medical content is checked before it goes live by Dt. Hüseyin Yavuz Özbek, Dentist — Implant Surgery & Prosthetics at Precious Dental, registered with the Turkish Dental Association (TDB no. 49105). He looks for errors, overstatement and anything that makes a risk look smaller than it is, with particular care over how much tooth preparation a treatment needs. The date of his last review is shown near the top of each page. The editorial team page has more about him and about the writers.

Opinion goes in labelled places

We think Precious Dental is a good choice for crowns, and we say so, mainly on the why Precious Dental page. Everywhere else we aim to describe treatment in a way that would be true at any good clinic. That means:

  • We are honest about tooth preparation: what is removed, why, and that it cannot be undone.
  • We cover alternatives, including veneers, bonding and simply leaving a healthy tooth alone.
  • Risks and downsides get the same attention as the benefits.
  • We do not write about, rank or criticise other clinics.
  • Prices are only our own published prices, and we do not invent new ones from them.

The commercial side is explained in full in our advertising disclosure.

Real people, real photos

We do not invent authors, patients or quotes. Pages are signed by the Precious Dental editorial team. Before-and-after photos on real results are of real patients who consented to them being shown, and we never use AI-generated images of teeth. Reviews come from Trustpilot, where we cannot edit or remove them.

Keeping pages current

We revisit a page when guidance changes, when a price changes or when a reader reports a problem. Significant corrections are dated and logged, as described in our corrections policy.

A few photos of your teeth or a recent X-ray is enough to start. A dentist looks at them and you get a written plan: which teeth, which material, why, and the price in pounds. If you don't need crowns, we'll tell you.
