Before you decide

Three pages worth reading first: what crowns do to your teeth, crowns vs veneers and do you really need a crown?

Common questions

What is a dental crown?

A cap that covers the whole of a tooth above the gum, to protect it and restore its shape. The tooth is shaped down on all sides first so the crown fits over it. See crown types.

How much does a crown cost in Turkey at Precious Dental?

Zirconia £150 per tooth, E-max £225 per tooth. A set of 24 zirconia crowns is £3,600 with hotel and transfers. See crown prices.

Zirconia or E-max?

Zirconia for strength (back teeth, bridges, grinders); E-max for looks (front teeth). Many smiles mix both. See zirconia and E-max.

Do you still do porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns?

Rarely. If your dentist agrees it suits you, the price comes in your written plan. See PFM crowns.

How much of my tooth is removed?

A lot: lab measurements put full crown preparation at about 63% to 72% of the visible tooth. Veneers remove far less. See what happens to your teeth.

Crowns or veneers?

Crowns for broken, heavily filled or root-filled teeth; veneers or bonding for healthy teeth that need a cosmetic change. See crowns vs veneers.

Are "Turkey teeth" crowns or veneers?

Most of the problem cases reported in the UK involve crowns on healthy teeth, sometimes sold as "veneers". Always ask which you are getting.

How long do I need in Antalya?

One visit. Zirconia packages include 5 hotel nights; E-max usually takes about five to seven days. See the crown trip.

Does it hurt?

Teeth are numbed with local anaesthetic. Some sensitivity or sore gums for a few days afterwards is common.

How long do crowns last?

Reviews report about 96% to 98.5% five-year survival for modern crowns, and many last far longer. See aftercare and longevity.

What does the guarantee cover?

Crowns are guaranteed for 5 years against failure, with conditions such as check-ups and wearing an advised night guard. See the guarantee.

Can my UK dentist look after my crowns?

Yes. Any dentist can check, clean and X-ray crowned teeth. Bring your records.

Do I pay for the written plan?

No. The plan from your photos or X-ray is free and there is no obligation to book.

Is this site independent?

No. It is published by Precious Dental, our own clinic and top pick. We benefit if you choose us. See the advertising disclosure.

Send a selfie smile. Get a written crown plan.

A few photos of your teeth or a recent X-ray is enough to start. A dentist looks at them and you get a written plan: which teeth, which material, why, and the price in pounds. If you don't need crowns, we'll tell you.
